Visit to the SJTU Museum and NAOCE Museum
On the afternoon of November 3rd, 2021, the international students from the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering came to Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) Wenbo Archive Building to visit the SJTU Museum under the guidance of the interpreter. They studied the long history of SJTU in the past 125 years, understood the mission of SJTU that SJTU was born because of the chasing of greatness, flourished because of its reform, and thrived because of its talents. The identification with the university and their own responsibility were enhanced through the visit.
The international students followed the history corridor and listened to the interpreter's introduction of the history of SJTU. At times, they gathered around the interpreter and listened to the explanation, while at other times they spread out to learn more about the history they were interested.
After the visit of SJTU Museum, the international students continued to visit the NAOCE Museum. International students, who could not return to school visited the museum through video conference online.
The SJTU Museum and NAOCE Museum show the glorious history of SJTU and the school of NAOCE over the past hundred years, as well as the great achievements of generations of SJTUers with historical pictures, precious cultural relics and real stories. They comprehensively show the splendid history of SJTU and the School of NAOCE on the way of realizing the goal of saving, developing and strengthening China. The model of PLAN Liaoning, the model of manned submersible Jiaolong and the model of suction dredger deeply impressed the students. The international students expressed their heartfelt affirmation and praise to SJTU and expressed that they would be proud of SJTU and the School of NAOCE. They said that they will strive for the glory of the school and continuously make contributions to the communication of China and foreign countries and spread Chinese culture in the future.
