Civil Engineering of SJTU attend the Five-Continent Student Symposium, Tokyo

The Five-Continent Student Symposium had been held in Capital University in Tokyo, Japan from November 7 to 9 in 2019. Over 60 representatives participated in this conference from more than 20 regions and countries, including China, South Korea, Japan, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, etc. Professor Che Ailan from OCE Academy attended this meeting with her team members.

Taking the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games as an opportunity, Five-Continent Student Symposium, with the theme of “Unity in Diversity, Connecting to Tomorrow" focused on new concepts, technologies and methods for peaceful development. The symposium has four academic sectors consisting of “Diversity”, “Optimize”, “Connect” and “Imagine”, and seven sub conferences set.

At the meeting, Zhou Hanxu and Yuan Ganglie, graduate students from Civil Engineering Department of SJTU, respectively made oral reports entitled "Research on earthquake energy technology" and "safety assessment and economic construction of highway based on multidisciplinary intersection". Other students also gave oral reports on their research contents. The high-quality research results and wonderful presentation of Shanghai Jiao Tong University won the high praise of the participants.

By participating in the Five-Continent Student Symposium, professors and students from the Civil Engineering Department of Shanghai Jiao Tong University learned and exchanged ideas on the latest research progress from various fields. They are believed to accumulate valuable experience for further academic research.
