In order to make proper arrangements for the summer 2023 work, the relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

1) The summer vacation for students will begin on Monday, July 17, 2023, and end on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Classes will resume on Monday, September 11, 2023. Please arrange the personnel and related work during the new student registration period according to your needs to ensure the smooth progress of new student registration.

a) Undergraduate Registration Time:

1. Freshman class of 2023: Domestic (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) undergraduate students will register offline on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. International undergraduate students will register online from Tuesday, August 22, 2023, to Wednesday, August 23, 2023, and register offline on Friday, September 8, 2023.2. Sophomore class and above: Domestic (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) undergraduate students will register offline on Sunday, September 10, 2023. International undergraduate students will register online from Friday, September 8, 2023, to Sunday, September 10, 2023, and submit the registration application on campus.

b）Graduate Registration Time:

1. Autumn 2023 graduate students: Domestic new students (including Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) will register offline from Friday, September 8, 2023, to Saturday, September 9, 2023 (offline registration at the department, online registration at the Graduate Affairs Office). International new students will register online from Tuesday, August 22, 2023, to Wednesday, August 23, 2023, and register offline on Friday, September 8, 2023.

2. Other enrolled graduate students: Online registration for enrolled graduate students will be from Thursday, September 7, 2023, to Sunday, September 10, 2023. Full-time graduate students must submit the registration application on campus. For graduate students in school-enterprise joint training programs, the joint training base will submit the list of eligible registrants to the academic departments, and the academic affairs office will handle the registration. Other types of school-enterprise joint training graduate students can also follow the registration process for school-enterprise joint training graduate students, and the academic affairs office will handle the registration.

c）Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and International Exchange Students Registration Time:

1. International exchange students will register online from Tuesday, August 22, 2023, to Wednesday, August 23, 2023, and register offline on Friday, September 8, 2023. Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan exchange students will register offline on Friday, September 8, 2023.

2) Faculty and Staff Summer Vacation: The summer vacation for faculty and staff will begin on Monday, July 17, 2023, and end on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. Official work will resume on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

3) To ensure the normal progress of work during the summer vacation, employees of the university departments, library, archives and cultural heritage management center, network information center, educational technology center, and other directly affiliated units will take turns to rest between July 17, 2023, and September 6, 2023. The working hours during the rest period will be from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Each college (department) and other directly affiliated units should arrange their own summer vacation schedules. Each unit should make proper arrangements for summer vacation work to ensure the smooth progress of all tasks. At the same time, care should be given to key personnel who are usually busy with work, and they should be given the opportunity to rest as much as possible. For faculty and staff who cannot take a rest during the summer vacation due to work needs, with the consent of the unit leaders, they can take turns to rest after the summer vacation.

4) Each unit is requested to publish the work arrangement schedule for the summer vacation period on the prominent position of their respective websites and submit it to the Party and Administration Office (email: sjtudzb@sjtu.edu.cn) and the Security Office (email: bwchu@sjtu.edu.cn) for record-keeping before Thursday, July 13, 2023. The heads of each unit should keep their mobile phones accessible.

5) The course arrangements for part-time graduate students during the summer vacation period will be notified separately by the relevant schools. The work arrangements for the School of Medicine, Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, UM-SJTU Joint Institute, and School of Continuing Education will be notified by the respective units.

6) During the summer vacation, each unit should strengthen care and support for teachers, students, medical staff, and employees, enhance personal health management and safety awareness, and continue to work on campus safety management. The logistics department should ensure the living service support for teachers, students, and staff on campus. The schedule for holiday shuttle buses and related campus logistics services will be announced on the Logistics Support Center website in due course.
