Elsevier, the worldly renowned publisher, publicized the chart of “the 2014 Most Cited Chinese Researchers” in February, 2015. Prof. Lian Zhiwei from School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering of SJTU finds his place in the chart.

The chart of “the Most Cited Chinese Researchers” usually accredits the globally influential Chinese researchers in accordance to the citation rates of their published papers in which they should be noted as the first author or the correspondence author. The researchers listed in the chart are commonly recognized for their academic contribution to the progress of the research.

Altogether 1,651 Chinese researchers from 38 different categories of disciplines, including social science, physics, chemistry, mathematics and economy, were listed in the chart. Prof. Lian Zhiwei shared the honor with the colleagues from Tsinghua University and Tongji University.
